The Rasch Model:
Advantages of using Rasch scaling to improve measurement are:
1. developing an interval scale
2. the ease wiht which equating can be undertaken
3. that item bias can be detected
4. that persons, items and raters can be brought to a common scacle
5. estimates an error calculated for each individual person, item and rater, rather than for the instrument as a whole
